DIVISIONS AND PRINCIPLES

First Division: God reveals why He will not respond to Israel’s ritualistic fastings. 
Isaiah 58:1-12, Lev 16:31, 1 John 3:18-19, Romans 12:1

Principle #1: God greatly rewards contrite people who express thankfulness for their atonement with unselfish acts of loving kindness.

Second Division: God reveals how Israel could avoid ritualistic observance of the Sabbath.
Isaiah 58:13-14, Psalm 37:4, Colossians 2:16, Matthew 11:29, John 6:45

Principle #2: If we take one day a week to delight in God, He will help us delight in Him all the time.

Third Division: God reveals Israel’s need for true repentance and promises a Redeemer.
Isaiah 59:1-14, 1 John 1:8-9

Principle 3: God saves the contrite and lowly in spirit who truly confess their sins and believe in His promised Redeemer.
