"Man’s Wisdom Versus God’s Plan"

Isaiah 28:1 - 29:24

DIVISIONS AND PRINCIPLES
========================

First Division: Isaiah describes Ephraim’s decadence, arrogance, mocking, and coming captivity.  
(Isaiah 28:1-13)

Principle #1:  Never be too smart to listen to and obey God’s Word.

Second Division: Isaiah exposes the folly of Jerusalem’s leaders’ foundation.
(Isaiah 28:14-29)

Principle #2:  God’s Word is a solid foundation we can rely on to obtain righteousness and be saved from God’s judgment.

Third Division: Isaiah warns of the divine hardening of Jewish hearts but predicts the ultimate softening.
(Isaiah 29:1-24)

Principle #3a:  If we continue to think we are too smart to listen to and obey God’s Word, we risk God turning us over to that delusion.

Principle #3b:  God uses circumstances to reveal the folly of man’s wisdom so we will turn to Him for instructions.
