First Division: PAUL explained that Jesus’ person and work are preeminent (Colossians 1:15-18)

Principle #1: People need to hold onto God’s truth about Jesus’ deity to withstand the deceit of false teaching.

Second Division: Paul revealed the truth about Jesus’ resurrection and warned about being deceived (Colossians 1:19-23)

Principle #2:  Apart from Jesus there is no way for sin to be forgiven and removed.

Third Division: Paul described his joyful suffering and work to reveal Jesus’ truth to help people grow (Colossians 1:24-2:7)

Principle #3:  The more we grow in Jesus the less we will be fooled by false claims.
