DIVISIONS AND PRINCIPLES

First Division: God chooses David to be Israel's second King because of his heart. 
      I Samuel 16:7; Luke 6:45; Jeremiah 17:9; Hebrews 4:12; I Samuel 13:14; Philippians 2:9; James 4:6

Principle #1: God elevates people the most who wholeheartedly submit to God the most.

Second Division: God blesses David's wholehearted devotion with an eternal covenant. 
      II Samuel 7:11; Matthew 1:1; and II Samuel 7:13

Principle #2: God responds to extravagant, grateful hearts with grateful extravagance.

Third Division: God responds to Solomon's divided heart by dividing his kingdom. 
      I Kings 11:4-9; Proverbs 4:23; 1 John 1:9; Psalm 145:4

Principle #3: God warns us to guard our hearts by making obedience a habit.
